“November Renaissance” Casts MMA and Pro Wrestling Legends

Hollywood, CA (September 30, 2012) – In exciting news for fans of MMA and pro wrestling, Don Frye and Ken Yasuda  join the cast of November Renaissance, a corporate espionage Sci-fi thriller set against the backdrop of emerging nanotechnology.

November Renaissance is still in the early stages of production, with the goal to utilize the kickstarter platform as a means to fund a well-executed short film, the first stepping stone in making this project a feature film and beyond.

MMA and pro wrestling fans know Frye and Yasuda from their various works within both fields.

Frye is a 2-time UFC Tournament Champion, and a veteran of PRIDE (where he won fight of the year in 2002), K-1 and New Japan Wrestling (NJPW) where he wrestled Antonio Inoki’s in Inoki’s retirement match.  Frye has parlayed his success in the fight world into a successful film career where he has starred alongside actors such as Johnny Depp in Public Enemies as well as other various roles in film and television throughout the world.

Yasuda is a former baseball player and competitive bodybuilder winning Mr. Japan and becoming the largest bodybuilder ever in Asia.  As a son of a samurai family which boasts 46 generations of warriors, Yasuda is also well versed in marital arts.  The former coach of the Tokyo Sabres of the International Fight League (IFL), Yasuda assembled a team that boasted an IFL Grand Prix Champion and several fighters who made it to the UFC.  Yasuda has also trained and continues to train a plethora of big name athletes including baseball All-Star Ichiro Suzuki, numerous wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling and several future and former WWE Superstars including recently signed Jody Kristoferson, and former WWE Tag Team Champion David Hart Smith.

ABOUT THE PRODUCERS OF NOVEMBER RENAISSANCE

Michael Gee, a seasoned Hollywood professional, began his career in 2008, a decision that has been met with wide success. Since ’08 Michael Gee has worked on and produced over 100 independent film projects, commercials, and television series. Michael Gee has worked along side a credible sum of the industries top professionals, his credits include hit tv shows such as Dexter, Glee, and recently, a film that was a Cannes Film Festival Official Selection. In May of 2012, he teamed up with Writer/Director Clayton Haugen to further production on November Renaissance.

Clayton Haugen, a 2011 graduate of medieval literature and film and commercial director and editor turned his focus towards directing and writing narrative films from which he has received international publications for his work, including Official Playstation Magazine U.K. and GAWKER media. A former professional musician and illustrator, Haugen brings a wide range of artistic elements into his work as a director as well as a passion for advancing sciences, being the son of a PhD Theoretical Physicist.
