Las Vegas – November 26, 2012 Nick Foxhuber (Ronin Training Center – Columbus) claimed the Rocktagon MMA Lightweight Championship at Rocktagon XXII “Pull No Punches” on Wednesday night by defeating Daniel Coffman (Team Vengeance – Scottsdale, PA) in the main event at La Villa Event Center in Cleveland. All but two of the remaining bouts made it past the first round in what had to be one of the most exciting all-amateur cards in Rocktagon MMA history.

Foxhuber won the lightweight title by outworking Coffman, earning a unanimous decision (30-27) after three hard fought three-minute rounds. Foxhuber had the better ground game and was able to control Coffman in most other areas. This is the second time the duo has faced off in the Rocktagon and the second time Foxhuber walked about with the unanimous decision victory, handing Coffman his only two career losses to date.

The co-main event featured a hard-hitting battle in the light heavyweight division between Matt Comer (Ronin) and Mike Garcher (Elyria). Garcher came out swinging but was no match for Comer’s cardio endurance and brutal strikes, which ended the fight with a 2:55-second finish in round two by TKO.

In other fights, Joe Callari (GriffonRawl MMA Academy – Cleveland) verbally submitted Curt “Hammer” Harper (Columbus MMA – Columbus) in a welterweight bout at the 1:16-second mark of round two after a fierce leg kick; Heavyweight Daniel “Rock Star” Sutcliffe (Team Valiant – Warren) submitted Tyree Johnson (BlackArts MMA – Cleveland) with a 1:35-second finish in round two by guillotine choke; Middleweight Steve Chapple (BlackArts) submitted Brady “Brick” House (Musado Fight School – Rittman) with a 35-second finish in round two by a standing guillotine choke; Tony DiSantis (GriffonRawl) got the TKO against welterweight opponent Chad Rothgeb (Sandusky) with a 2:07-second first round call due to strikes; Tim Beanblossom (Team Valiant) had an impressive debut performance with a three-round unanimous decision over David “Body Bagz” Kithcart (Clinton Street Kickboxing & MMA – Syracuse, NY) in the middleweight division; Ray “Crazy” Hollis (Team Bundy – Niles) picked up the TKO victory over Anthony Morales (Sagamore, PA) in a bloody battle that ended the light heavyweight bout at the 2:36-second mark of round two due to strikes; Uriah Karkow (Team Bundy) won the split decision against Josh “Mr. MMA” Belle (GriffonRawl) after all three judges scored the back-and-forth battle between the welterweights 29-28; Jon Reeves (GriffonRawl) defeated Nico Persaliano (Team Valiant) via TKO due to strikes at the 1:51-second mark of round three in a bantamweight match; Chad Hennie (Musado) recorded a three-round split decision over Brian Porterfield (Team Bundy) by the scores of 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28 in a welterweight matchup; and John “The Juggernaut” Strout (Clinton Street) picked up a win in the light heavyweight division against Jevon Walker (Cleveland) with a 2:33-second finish in round one after a submission via rear naked choke.
