Recap of the Event:

Muay Thai is back as Take-On Productions presented “Battle at Bally’s II”, a 14-bout pro/am full contact Muay Thai event at the Bally’s Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The card featured at hotly anticipated main event and co-main event in the professional ranks and also had two amateur titles on the line. “Battle at Bally’s II” had several knockouts by kicks, punches and even elbows and hard fought fights that went the distance leaving the fans clamoring for more. Take-On Productions continues to put together great Muay Thai events that feature high level striking with blistering kicks, punches, knees and elbows.

In the main event, Jay Matias from Sitan Gym defeated Douglas Ahammer via TKO in round two of a 132 lb fight. Matias proved without a doubt that he is a force to be reckoned with as he took the fight to Ahammer almost from the opening bell. Matias was the stronger of the two fighters and his strikes did more damage as he landed body kicks and mixed up some combos with his fists. Matias continued his attack into the second round landing a series of strikes both with his feet and his hands finishing up his attack with a short elbow that landed flush on the back of Ahammer’s head. The referee called a halt to the bout after that awarding the win to Matias who had a dominant performance and showed he is ready for even bigger challenges.

In the co-main event, in a rematch that ended in a controversial draw, Deshawn Robinson of America’s Finest Kickboxing defeated Sean Hinds of C3 Athletics/Mushin MMA via KO in round one. Robinson left no doubt this time as to who the winner was as he landed a perfect left cross on Hinds that send him face first to the canvas ending the fight. Leading up to the knockout punch, Robinson continually moved forward and threw punches in bunches all with the intent to knockout Hinds. It was a solid win for Robinson who has turned into one of the sport’s most entertaining fighters.
