Central Canada’s top MMA promotion returns as Hard Knocks Fighting Championship presents School of Hard Knocks 31: Estevan, on March 2 at the Spectra Place. The action packed 15-bout amateur card features many of the top up and coming superstars of the Great White North. HKFC is the top proving ground for rising prospects in Western Canada and the 31st installment promises to deliver great fights once again.

In the main event, Devon “The Giant Killer” Smith (5-1) from Prestige Worldwide fights Kevin Legasse (3-1) from I&C Kickboxing/Team Extreme in a light heavyweight scrap. Smith is riding a 5 fight win streak all by stoppage with 4 KOs. Power in both hands, Smith loves to bring the action to his opponent and can always be found in the center of the cage ready to trade strikes. Smith is known around Canada for chopping down much bigger opponents and he has another one in Legasse who is ripped to shreds and a physical specimen. Legasse is on a 4 fight win streak with 2 stoppages via submission. A champion for another organization, Legasse is feared my most in his weight class. This shapes up to be a classic battle of two gritty fighters looking to prove who the top dog at 205 lb is.

In co-main event, Chris Chapman (4-1) representing Arashido battles David Swanson (3-1) out of Winnipeg Academy of MMA in a lightweight tilt. Chapman has won his last 4 fights with 2 via TKO. Chapman has steadily been improving his all-around MMA game and is just as dangerous on the ground as he is on his feet. Chapman also has a strong wrestling base which lets him dictate where the fight goes in most of his bouts. Swanson is almost a mirror of Chapman with a well-rounded overall game and has shown in the past he can end fights with his fists or his submission grappling. Swanson has also worked on his cardio and is ready to go to war for 3 rounds if need be.
