The multi-day tournament has been a staple of Junior Canadian boxing for years and brings the whole country of Canada together to celebrate these young boxers fulfilling their dreams inside the squared circle for a week of competition. All these fights are for a title so you can bet that each warrior was coming out for glory and gold. The only way to see this great series or individual event is to order it at GFL.tv.
The eighth and final session of the series was highlighted by 6 punishing bouts. These young boxers came to fight and displayed both skill and determination in the squared circle as some fulfilled their lifelong dreams of winning titles, while others continued to advance in the tournament.
In the main event, Nate Carzeri of Ontario defeated Raphael Bayard of Quebec in the third round via TKO to win the 91kg Youth Division. Carzeri showed off power in both hands as he was able to hurt Bayard multiple times in the fight with the ref finally stopping the contest in the third and final round. Carzeri showed off great cardio for a big man as he threw punishing punches over the course of the full fight. Bayard showed off how durable he was and fired back combos of his own, but Carzeri was the better fighter on this night and too many of his heavy punches got through the defenses of Bayard.
In the co-main event, Logan Fairgrieve of Alberta defeated Tanvir Kahlon of Ontario via decision to cap off an impressive run through the 69kg Youth Division. Fairgrieve showed off an aggressive style that overwhelmed Kahlon throughout the fight. Fairgrieve was able to dominate his opponents in the tournament by continually putting pressure on his foes from the opening bell. Fairgrieve was first to the punch while Kahlon was reacting and trying to counter.
In other action, Luis Santana of Quebec stopped Julien Alvarez of Manitoba in the third round to win the 56kg Youth Division title.
