The 2015 Junior Canadian National Championships is in full swing with exciting fights, and TKOs to be had in several fights that turned into shootouts. The multi-day tournament has been a staple of Junior Canadian boxing for years and brings the whole country of Canada together to celebrate these young boxers fulfilling their dreams inside the squared circle. As the tournament winds down, the championships are now in sight and in play for several divisions and these boxers step into the ring looking to prove that they deserve the title of Champion. The only way to see this great series or individual event is to order it at GFL.tv.
The sixth session of the series was highlighted by 8 punishing bouts. These young boxers came to fight and displayed both skill and determination in the squared circle as some fulfilled their lifelong dreams of winning titles, while others continued to advance in the tournament.
In the main event, Tanvir Kahlon of Ontario defeated Ryan Sanford of Newfoundland and Labrador via unanimous decision in a 69kg Youth division battle. Kahlon proved difficult for Sanford to hit as Kahlon was slick on his feet and able to dodge the oncoming attacks of Sanford while scoring with quick combos of his own. Kahlon’s best weapon was his jab and cross as he peppered those punches in the direction of Sanford all night. Sanford showed true grit and determination, but on this night, Kahlon was dominant.
In the co-main event, Logan Fairgrieve of Alberta defeated Ulysse Lalanne of Quebec via unanimous decision in a 69kg Youth division bout. Fairgrieve showed off an aggressive style that overwhelmed Lalanne throughout the fight. Fairgrieve and Kahlon are now on a collision course to face each other in the 69kg Youth Division. It should be a barnburner.
