The 2015 Junior and Youth Canadian National Championships has kicked off and several boxers performed well on the second day and advanced in the multi-day tournament that will see dozens and dozens of the top amateurs in Canada fight for gold. The championships are in sight and these boxers step into the ring looking to prove that they deserve the title of Champion. The only way to see this great event is to order it at GFL.tv.

8 bouts kicked off the first session of the second day of fights. All were highly contested as these young boxers showed off their skill and determination in the squared circle.

In the main event, Shayneisha Kelly defeated Taylor Ross via unanimous decision in the 75kg Youth Female division. Kelly was dominant during the whole fight as she used a strong jab and right cross to dictate the tempo from the early going. Kelly kept up a fast pace, especially for the 75kg division, and landed several hard shots against the durable Ross. Kelly looks to be an early favorite to win the 75kg Youth female division as she showed off a very technically sound all-around game.

In the co-main event, Anthony Cote of Quebec defeated Morwat Shirkan of Alberta via TKO in the third round in a great back and forth scrap. Cote picked his spots and scored with precision while Shirkan continued to come forward and throw punches with bad intentions. Cote used great head movement to stay out of harm’s way as he was able to pull out the victory which came down to the third and final round.

In other action, Spencer Olin Lee of British Columbia defeated Joshua Hadallor of Manitoba via TKO in the first round in a 63kg Junior division bout.
