Fight Lab debuts on GFL on January 24 (on demand on January 30) with “Fight Lab 43” emanating from the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The stacked card will featured top ranked MMA showcasing the top prospects in the Southeast ready to show their grit to a global audience. Don’t blink when these warriors step into the cage and go to battle.

In the main event, Keith “The Rockstar” Richardson (12-6) fights Bellator vet Rodrigo Lima (10-1) in a lightweight scrap. Richardson is on a 2 fight winning streak and is a grizzled vet in the Southeast MMA scene. Richardson is always an exciting fighter and only 3 of his fights have ever gone to decision. Richardson will look to use his size advantage and get takedowns early and often. If Richardson can get top control, his elbows are a very dangerous weapon he has utilized in previous matches. Lima is a solid grappler who took 2014 off to heal up from injuries and work on his all-around MMA game. Lima has 7 finishes to his credit and will look to start 2015 off with a bang and climb right back up the ladder as one of the most feared fighters in his division.

In a Fight Lab Flyweight Title fight, Champion Josh Smith (6-0) takes on Michael Whaley (2-1). Smith is looking to defend his title for the first time after winning the championship back September 2014 with a third round TKO in a back and forth, grueling fight. Smith has only been to decision once in his career and has reeled off 5 straight wins via finish. Whaley is a resilient fighter who brings his lunchbox to the cage every time. Whaley is a tough matchup for anyone and will give the undefeated Champion all he can handle. Don’t blink when the cage door close.

In other action, Mike Stevens (4-2) battles Lawrence Dennis (2-2) in a lightweight showdown. Stevens is a triple threat fighter with solid wrestling, grappling and striking. All 4 of Stevens’ wins have come via submission or TKO. Stevens is looking to steal the show with his performance and move up the ranks of the 155 lb division within Fight Lab. Dennis is a durable fighter who has only suffered decision losses. Dennis has never been in trouble in a fight and brings an iron jaw and hands of stone into the cage.
