In the main event, for the SCS Heavyweight title, Bellator, KOTC and WEC vet Tony “Kryptonite” Lopez (33-15) defeated Jesse “The Hulk” Hernandez (6-2) via TKO in the second round to become the new champion. After several scramble attempts, Lopez tried to get back to his feet but was brought down again by a front face lock by Hernandez. Hernandez kept the pressure on the neck of Lopez who was still struggling to get to his feet, but the wrestling and control of Hernandez from the top was nullifying any offense by Lopez for the remainder of the round. In round two, the awkward striking style of Lopez was again finding its mark, but Hernandez shot for another takedown and put Lopez on his back. Hernandez tried landing punches from the top, but Lopez remained calm and cool and locked on a triangle choke and submitted the former champion in a great come from behind victory. Lopez showed off his years of experience in the cage by continuing to look for openings throughout the fight and when he found one, he made Hernandez pay. It was a great win for one of the veterans of the sport against a tough up and comer whose best days are still ahead of him.

In the co-main event, Mitch Thompson (5-2) defeated Christopher Brooks (6-10) via in the first round. After exchanging leg kicks, Thompson got a nice takedown against the cage. Brooks popped up, but Thompson got him back to the mat with a terrific belly to back suplex. Thompson was relentless on riding the back of Brooks and looking for a way to end the fight. Thompson finally locked in a rear naked choke after several more scrambles by Brooks and Thompson continuing to get his back. It was a grappling clinic by Thompson who showed off some solid submission attempts, transitions, takedowns and scrambles.
