Alaska’s #1 MMA promotion returns to GFL as Alaska Fighting Championship presents “AFC 113” emanating from the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, Alaska on February 11. MMA fans, this pro/am card is stacked featuring the top up and coming prospects inside the state of Alaska. AFC is the premier MMA organization in the Last Frontier State with several alums moving on to the UFC and AFC continues to produce high quality MMA events comparable to any regional organization across the U.S.

In the main event, for the AFC Lightweight Title, Champion “Naptime” Nic Herron-Webb (17-6) battles Cody “Peligro” Rice (10-8). Herron-Webb won the title back in November via first round armbar and this will be his first title defense. Herron-Webb also won the AFC Welterweight Title earlier in his career and has been on a tear lately winning his last 3 fights dating back to 2013. Herron-Webb should have a decided strength and size advantage as he will look to close the distance early and get Rice on the mat where Herron-Webb can work his ground and pound from the top that many times open up submission attempts. Rice is a heavy handed fighter and has 6 KO wins to his credit. Rice can end a fight with one punch and will always be dangerous until the final bell. Look for Rice to keep it standing as he will want to mix it up in the striking game. Both of these fighters are two of the most decorated Alaskan Lightweights and there should be fireworks from the opening bell.

In the co-main event, “The AK Kid” Maurice Mitchell (7-1) fights Dimanche “Smash” Lek (1-0). Mitchell is on a 2 fight winning streak and is a grappling specialist with a strong wrestling game able to get fights to the mat and from there he can end it with a submission or grind his opponent down over 3 rounds to win a unanimous decision. Mitchell constantly pushes the pace and is able to break down his opponent round by round until he finally sinks in a submission, gets a KO or wins via decision. Lek comes into the fight a decided underdog, but only because of his lack of experience. His first fight he dominated and ended the fight with a first round submission. Lek is a well-rounded fighter and looks to shock the audience and shake up the rankings. Don’t blink as these two are ready to put on a fight of the night performance.

In an undercard bout, Joey Martin (0-0) takes on Clyde Sampson (0-2). Martin is making his debut and comes into the fight as a wildcard. What skills will Martin bring into the fight? Is he a grappler, striker or both? Sampson is looking for his first win and has the cage experience in his favor.

You won’t find more BANG for your buck so order this thrilling event. Be sure to catch all of the action LIVE on February 11 as Alaska Fighting Championship presents “AFC 113” on pay-per-view exclusively at
