Asylum Fight League is back with its latest installment “Asylum Fight League 47” on February 14 from the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This 13-bout card will feature some of the top prospects on the East Coast.

For the AFL Heavyweight Title, Matthew Hill (4-0) battles Thomas Lanier Jr (2-3) in a heavyweight bout. Lanier Jr has hit a rough 2-fight skid, but looks to rebound with a win and a title. Hill is known for wearing his opponents down round after round with aggressive wrestling and top control. For a heavyweight, Hill also has solid cardio as he has been to a decision 3 times and has proven he can keep u a fast pace for a whole fight. Lanier has fought all 5 of his fights in AFL and looks to not only bring home gold but put the first loss on the record of Hill. Lanier will be the bigger man in the cage and need to use that size advantage whenever possible to try and break down Hill. Look for Lanier to mix up his attacks and try and get top position on the mat where he can use ground and pound to finish the fight.

For the AFL Lightweight Championship, Champion Cesar Balmaceda (3-1) takes on Brandon Perez (1-0). Balmaceda is a well-rounded fighter with solid wrestling and grappling and high volume striking and looks to defend his AFL title for the first time after winning the championship via TKO in 2014. Balmaceda can end a fight with either hand and will be looking to throw leather from the opening bell. These two athletes will go full throttle in their matchup as gold is on the line. Perez is a heavy hitter and won his fist fight in under 30 seconds via KO. Perez has KO power in both hands and will look to make this a shootout from the opening bell.

Jorge Garcia (1-1) fights Chris Santopietro (2-0) in a lightweight scrap. Garcia won his first fight via TKO in the first round and dropped a tough loss via decision. Garcia looks to climb up the ladder in the 155lb division by taking on an undefeated fighter in Santopietro. Santopietro has a workman like fighting style and he always pushes the action in the striking or on the ground. Santopietro has a strong wrestling pedigree and his work ethic has shown itself time and time again in the cage. Look for these two rising stars to put on the best performances of their careers.
