Sparta Combat League returns on GFL with “A VS M”, a stacked MMA card on February 21 from the Xfinity Arena in Everett, Washington. SCL takes their show on the road, away from the familiar Rockies of Colorado and heads up to the Pacific Northwest to present their brand of high octane cage fights to the people of Washington. This event promises to be full speed from bell to bell.

In the main event, Jared Torgeson (11-12) battles Strikeforce vet Cory Devela (9-6) in a light heavyweight matchup. Torgeson is a veteran to the NW MMA scene and looks to even his record against a very tough opponent in Devela. Torgeson has 6 wins via KO and has ended numerous fights with one punch. He carries with him dynamite in both hands and will be looking to put Devela on the defensive in the opening round. Torgeson has faced tough completion in his career going toe to toe with UFC vet Trevor Prangley and IFL vet Aaron Stark. Look for Torgeson to push the action from the opening bell. Devela has also faced world class competition going against current UFC Middleweight Challenger and former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold. Devela holds a win over the durable Joe Riggs and will look to use his solid all-around game to mix up his attacks and cause problems for Torgeson. Devela is great on the ground, having 5 wins via submission and if he gets the fight to the mat, it will negate the punching power of Torgeson.

In the co-main event, in the featherweight division, Eduardo Torres (4-3) fights Pancrase vet Rob Cann (4-3). Torres has 3 of 4 wins via submission and has a very active guard game as well as dominating top control in most of his fights. Torres has only been stopped once in his career, and is coming off a close decision loss for a King of the Cage title. Look for Torres to get back to his hard-hitting style and make Cann work for everything he gets. Torres has a great chin and can wade through punches if need be, to get a takedown. Cann has an identical record to Torres and is on a 2-fight winning streak. All 4 wins by Cann have come via stoppage and he will look to add Torres to the list. Both of these fighters are on the rise in the 145lb division and having them face one another so early in their careers is a real treat for MMA fans.

Sparta Combat League is sure to bring down the house once again as they have quickly grabbed a chokehold on Mountain West MMA and this show will continue in that tradition. Order “A VS M”, and watch live and anytime afterwards on video on demand only on GFL.
