Heavyweight Joey Dawejko, 14-3-2, 7 KOs, made short work of Ebonong Umohette, 9-3, 8 KOs on Friday night at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. Dawejko landed a crushing left hook that sent Umohette face-first to the canvas. The time was 27 seconds of round one. The referee was Benji Esteves.
In the final bout of the night, junior lightweight Jason Sosa, 14-1-3, 9 KOs, stopped Bergman Aguilar, 12-2-1, 4 KOs, at 1:54 of round four. Just before the finish, Aguilar turned his back and indicated to referee Gary Rosato that he did not want to continue. After the bout it was reported that Aguilar had lost three teeth in the final flurry of the fight.
Lightweight Victor Vasquez, 20-7-1, 8 KOs, battered Jose Guzman, 5-9-1, and scored a TKO in round four. Referee Gary Rosato halted the bout at 2:59. No knockdowns.
Welterweight Keenan Smith, 6-0,2 KOs, returned from a 3-year layoff to stop awkward Malik Jackson, 1-6-4, at 1:41 of round three. There were no knockdowns.
Southpaw junior middleweight Jeff Lentz, 5-0, 1 KO, remained undefeated with a 6-round unanimous decision over Fred Jenkins Jr., 9-2, 3 KOs.
In the opening bout at the 2300 Arena in South Philly, lightweight Jerome Conquest, 2-1, won a 4-round unanimous decision over a debuting Kevin Garcia, 0-1.
