Prime Fighting presents “Prime Fighting 5”, an 8-bout card on March 14 from the Clark County Event Center in Ridgefield, Washington. Prime Fighting is the proving ground for all up and coming MMA fighters in the Pacific Northwest and this card is sure to showcase future world champions.

In the main event, for the Prime Fighting Heavyweight Title, Matt Kovacs (10-13) battles Chris De La Rocha (3-0) in a heavyweight slobber-knocker. Kovacs is built like a brick house and brings a solid wrestling game into the cage. Kovacs will no doubt look to get the fight to the ground where he can close the distance and try to work some ground and pound from the top position. Kovacs has continued to work on his game in the last few years and picked up a win over former UFC Champion Maurice Smith back in 2013. De La Rocha is a well-rounded fighter who brings one-punch KO power into the cage and has finished all 3 of his opponents inside of two rounds. De La Rocha is a huge heavyweight but he fights like a middleweight as his cardio conditioning lets him set a fast pace right from the onset. Expect someone to get knocked out in this fight as it will be a barnburner.

In other action, in a lightweight bout, Ryan Mulvihill (12-6) fights Austin Springer (7-0). Mulvihill has fought a who’s who across the Pacific Northwest and won his last fight via first round RNC. Look for Mulvihill to try and get the fight to the mat where he can work his wrestling and submission game as he has 9 wins via tapout. Mulvihill is a gamer and after dropping his first two pro fights, he has wheeled off a very impressive record. Springer is undefeated and has been involved in 3 straight title fights, with another organization, where he won them all via TKO or submission. Springer is an up and coming 155lb fighter and has aspirations on becoming a household name. A win over the durable Mulvihill will set him on the right course. Both of these men are true pros and this fight should be a fight of the night candidate.

Gustavo Bessa (1-0) tangles with Mohammad Abed (1-0) in a battle of undefeated prospects. Bessa is a relentless wrestler with a solid grappling game and earned his victory via first round RNC. Abed comes into the cage with a second round submission win to his credit and will look to match the aggressiveness of Bessa. Although Bessa only has 1 pro fight, he has several fights as an amateur and brings an experience advantage into the cage, which could be something to watch if the fight goes into the third round.

Don’t miss this electrifying event featuring Washington’s finest MMA athletes competing in front of a packed house. Watch all of the fights LIVE on March 14 as Prime Fighting presents “Prime Fighting 5” on pay-per-view only at!
