Unified MMA returns to GFL on March 27 with “Unified MMA 22” from the Mirage Banquet Hall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This loaded card featured several up and coming prospects from the Great White North as well as several seasoned veterans and the main event features a heavyweight title fight.

In the main event, for the Unified MMA Heavyweight Championship, Tanner Boser (6-0) fights UFC vet Tim Hague (19-9). Boser won the title back in 2014 via a TKO in the third round and this will be his first title defense. Boser has only gone to decision once and has managed to win in decisive fashion every other time he’s stepped in the cage. Boser is very nimble for a heavyweight and brings a great cardio game into the cage. Boser loves to push the pace and set the tempo from the early going. Look for Boser to try and put Hague on the defensive early and often. Hague is on a 3-fight winning streak, all finishes inside the WSOF cage. Hague is only getting better with time and is in the middle of his best run as a pro. Expect heavy hands and quick combos from Hague.

In the co-main event, Jarid Bussemakers (5-3) takes on Nick Campbell (7-5) in a middleweight scrap. Bussemakers is dangerous from anywhere in the cage. He is a strong puncher but also well versed on the ground. Bussemakers is a vet to the Canadian MMA scene and never turned a fight down in his life. An impressive win for Bussemakers here could put him in line for a future title shot. Campbell is a veteran to MMA and has fought all over the Great White North taking on all comers. Campbell is currently riding a 2-fight win via TKO streak and has really sharpened his striking game with pinpoint combos. Campbell fights with a high risk-high reward style as only 1 of his 12 fights have ever gone to decision. Expect fireworks from Campbell from the opening bell.

In other action Mike Scarcello (6-3-1) takes on Dia Grant (9-11) in a lightweight bout. Scarcello is on a 3 fight winning streak and brings a tough grinder-type of game into the cage. Scarcello likes to outwork his opponents over the course of a full fight and break their spirits in the process and if the KO presents itself, he takes it. Grant can finish fights on the ground or in the standup and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into the cage. Grant is also a submission specialist but his striking game might be the difference in the fight.

Don’t miss this electrifying event featuring some of the top regional mixed martial arts talents from around Canada.
