This Friday night Cage Fury Fighting Championship 53 brings an exciting card to Philadelphia, PA. Headlining is The Ultimate Fighter and UFC veteran Dan “The Dragon” Spohn (11-4) who looks to challenge Zu Anyanwu (9-3) for the CFFC Heavyweight title.

Dan, who regularly competes at light heavyweight, hopes to capture the belt at 265 pounds. He is the proud owner of a couple vicious highlight reel knockouts. Among them is one of the fastest TUF KOs ever at just 9 seconds. Though weight may be a factor, he will have an advantage in both height and reach: standing at 6’4 with a reach of 76.5″. Spohn, after losing his fight at The Ultimate Fighter finale, has gone on a tear winning his last three fights.

Zu Anyanwu, the home town champ, hopes to steal “The Dragon’s” momentum. He stands at 6’1 with a reach of 71″ but is no stranger to big KO wins.

There is no doubt that this five round fight could end swiftly with just one punch. Friday night will not only be his first title defense, but will undoubtedly be the biggest fight of his career. Either man could easily find themselves on the road to the UFC with a win.
