Bedford native Scott “Cujo” Sigmon, a professional pugilist possessing an impressive professional record of 25-8-1 with 14 knockouts, will be fighting close to home again in March. After a small West Coast tour of bouts in Las Vegas for Mayweather Promotions last year, Cujo has set his sights back to his roots.

After all, it was Lynchburg and Greensboro where “Cujo” left his mark on the boxing landscape. After climbing up world rankings, Sigmon has fought many top contenders in the sport; most notably, former World Champion Kelly Pavlik on ESPN2 in the summer of 2012. Sigmon’s more notable bouts kept him out of the area for quite some time. Without the opportunity to participate in local events, Sigmon’s support team have been left out in the cold with no chance of watching him perform unless they traveled to Las Vegas.

Recently, a regional Mixed Martial Arts phenomenon in a promotional company known as Elite Warrior Challenge, LLC has taken an interest in the man known as “Cujo.” Bruce Abramski, the founding owner of EWC, has brought an abundance of great combat sports talent to the region as well. EWC has promoted some of the best Muay Thai fights this area has ever seen, along with having several former UFC veterans on their fight cards as well.

“Cujo is a tenacious individual in every aspect of combat sports, from the fight to the promotion of the event,” stated promoter Bruce Abramski.

In Cujo’s own words: “I have been on a lot of big stages now, but there is none I enjoy more than the home crowd” – when asked about his most recent bouts in Sin City. Sigmon will be facing Chris “Irish Ghost” Fitzpatrick of Columbia,SC who holds a professional record of 15 wins to only 3 defeats. What those numbers don’t reveal are that one of Fitzpatrick’s victories is over Scott “Cujo” Sigmon, whom he defeated in a 10-round, split-decision in July of 2011!
