Super Heavyweights Kalib Starnes and Tim Hague Battle as does Middleweights Matt MacGrath and Jesse Ronson for Belts at XFFC 9
WATCH LIVE Tonight’s edition of Xcessive Force Fighting Championship (XFFC) from the ENTREC Centre at Evergreen Park has one of the best fight cards of the year in this region with four notable UFC vets on the card.
In co-main event Matt MacGrath battles Jesse Ronson, which the MMA media has touted as the No. 1 fight in Canada for the month of April. MacGrath will be defending his welterweight title at 169.6 lbs against a tough Ronson coming off of 2 finishes by TKO and Submission.
Our main event too is no joke. We have Kalib Starnes (206) , the XFFC heavyweight champion, fighting Tim ‘The Thrashing Machine’ Hague (262). Both of those guys have five fights in the UFC each, so again, that’s another big fight.
In an equally enticing bout the ‘Judge’ Spencer Jebb fighting Michael Hill which is probably one of the fights I’m most excited to see because those guys have very similar styles and it’s going to be a tough one for Spencer. But, if he wins it, it’s really going to put him on the map.
In a very unique and special fight, Luis Martinez, a father and lifelong martial artist, fairly old to be making his debut, however he has always led by example. A master in the art of ITF Taekwondo, Luis takes his skills and jujitsu from under the tutelage of Bill Mahood into the cage v Tom O’Connor, who is coming into the bout on a 2 fight win streak, both by choke out submission finishes. I would not want to be on the ground with either of these fighters.
Other locals including Sterling Freake, Rand y Mahon, Dayton Roberts, Jordan Roberts and Luis Martinez are on Friday’s card, along with Rick Pfeifer, who is originally from the Swan City but now lives in Sylvan Lake.
