Chris Lozano Battles Eddie Gordon Live Tonight on GFL.Tv
After more than four years since his last official fight, Chris Lozano is set to return to action this weekend.
Lozano (10-3) is set to take on Eddie Gordon (7-4) in the co-main event at CFFC 60 in Atlantic City.
Lozano’s last action was in 2013, when he competed on Bellator’s “Fight Master” reality series. He made it to the quarterfinals before losing to eventual show winner Mike Bronzoulis. The fights on the show were considered exhibition fights, so they don’t show up on his official record.
“[I] haven’t fought since Fight Master, Feels good to be back. I’m definitely motivated to get to a big promotion. That’s where the money is. Everything about me as a person and fighter is different. Everything.”
Lozano, who made his name during a five-fight stint with Bellator, is now training at Evolve MMA in Media, Ohio, where he has been for a few years.
He was one of the best welterweight prospects in the sport, as he finished his first six fights via knockout or TKO, including a win over UFC veteran Yoshiyuki Yoshida at Bellator 31. Overall, “The Cleveland Assassin” has finished eight of his ten wins via strikes.
He was cut from Bellator in 2012 after losing back-to-back fights to Douglas Lima and Karl Amoussou, but he rebounded with a TKO win over James Warfield.
Now 33, Lozano will have a chance to prove that he’s still a top fighter when he takes on Gordon.
Gordon was the champion of Season 19 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” but he was cut from the UFC after losing three straight. This will be his first fight back on the regional scene, and the knockout artist will also be looking for a highlight reel win against Lozano.
CFFC 60 takes place on Saturday at the Borgata Hotel & Casino and will air on CBS Sports Network.
In the main event, UFC veteran Jonavin Webb takes on unbeaten Ohio native Isaac Steele in a welterweight bout.
