The card will feature 15 professional and amateur MMA bouts including fighters from 5 states including, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Kansas and Arkansas. Special guest commentators will include pro fighter the ‘butterbean’ as well as several ufc fighters including Jerrod Sanders and JC Cottrell.
The Main Event is a heavyweight bout featuring Brandon “ Undertaker” Lee who is 4-0 as a pro spanning only an 11 month career to date. Lee has finished all of his opponents in the first round. He takes on Stephen Skoch who turned pro in June and won his first pro fight by TKO in 8 seconds of the first round. Lee’s longest fight has gone 2:43 which is an eternity compared to the 8 seconds Skoch has fought. Lee is already on many promotion’s radar. This bout will be high energy and is almost guaranteed not to go the distance.
The best fight of the night could be the co-main event featuring 5-0 Julian Leonard v 6-2 LaRue “the Cannibal” Burley. Leonard at 5-0 (12-0 if you include his amateur bouts) and many say is the real deal. He has shown that he is a tough fighter with the skill to finish his opponents and take the fight the distance. His ground game is as good as his striking ability and he is know to be quick to the attack. That said his opponent is the more experienced fighter. Burley’s only losses came in the WSOF cage to 2 highly ranked fighters. Prior to those 2 fights he had a record of 8-0 (including his amateur bouts) having fought and won 3 times at Bellator and once at RFA. Burly has finished 7 of his 10 opponents. More telling is that all but for one of his opponents had winning records at the time they fought Burley, including 4 fighters who were undefeated.
In an interesting Amateur fight named, “Battle of the Giants” features 2 of the tallest fighters ever to enter the cage. Its a battle of Texas v Kansas when Samuel (Blake) Atnip at 6’10″ from Stephenville, Texas takes on Jeremy Thurman who is also well over 6’ from Meade, Kansas.
The event will also feature a “Big Boy Beat Down” featuring 2 fighters exceeding 300 pounds. 300 lbs., Stephen Brown is making his amateur debut against another debut fighter Richard Wyatt at 350lbs. Both these fighters are new to the ring so its unclear what we can expect to see. It has the making of a spectacle fight, however, it could wind up being one of the best fights of the night if these fighters are game to hit and be hit. Any flush shot from a fighter with that kind of weight behind him will be hard to take too often, so don’t blink this fight should not make it out of the first round.
