Rage in the cage OKC – Jon Hill v Juan Torres

The Co-main event will feature two heavyweight Bellator vets; Oklahoma’s Jon Hill will face Juan Torres from Houston, Tx.  Torress was called up to Bellator in March of this year and lost a 3 round split decision to UFC Vet Justin Wren (14-2) at Bellator 149.  He rebounded from that fight with a brutal TKO finish over Jason Preston this past July.  Having reached Bellator only to lose via decision has made Torress a focused fighter. Forget records at this point, Torress has one goal, win and make it back to either Bellator or the UFC.

Bellator Vet Jon Hill has a record of 11-5,  and at age 34 has found a new focus and determination. Having fought 8 times (6-2) in the last 18 months he was a step away from another opportunity at the next level until he traded wins with Kevin Sears this year. He knocked out Sears (9-2) in the 1st round of RITC 46 this past May and then lost to Sears via 2nd round knock out in August. The Hill v Sears trilogy is set for October of this year at RITC 49, however, he needs to get past Torress first.

Both fighters are extremely focused at this point in their careers and truly need this win to gain relevance with the next level promotions. This fight should be a war from the first bell.

BOUT OF INTEREST:  Rage in the Cage 48 will be headlined by a bout between Oklahoma’s “Sunnyside Kid” Ken Coulter and Tre Parks. Coulter (3-2, 6-3 including amateur fights) has never been knocked out, having only lost by submission once in his career, losing to an undefeated Louis Muro. Coulter is known for his impressive and relentless ground game with most of his wins coming via submission or decision. That said it was his striking that led him to a TKO victory over Pro Fighter Edwin Williams back in May.

This is Park’s pro debut, his last amateur fight being a split decision loss at Legacy FC 54 this past April. Parks trains at the highly respected R-1 MMA gym under former UFC Fighter Matt Grice.  All his amateur victories were by KO/TKO.  Whether standing or on the ground, this fight is highly anticipated by fans of these two hometown favorites.
