Top SIX Fights to Watch: Number 5: Ode Osbourne v. Cory Galloway
Pure Fighting Championships 5’s main event features a matchup of extremely exciting bantamweight fighters from two of great camps. Ode Osbourne (3-1, 8-1 including amateur record) is a young 135 prospect fighting out of Roufusport in Milwaukee, WI. His only loss was a split decision loss to an undefeated Antonio Sanchez at RFA 39 this past June. Osbourne I 24 years old and stated after the loss that he was not mentally prepared for the media and tv elements of the RFA event and thus lost focus in the cage. He is a dynamic striker and experienced grappler having KO’d as many opponents as he has submitted.
Osbourne’s opponent is Cory Galloway (8-5, 12-5 including amateur record) from Team Curran MMA in Crystal Lake, IL. Galloway is a Bellator and RFA veteran, and has been a professional since 2012. He has finished his opponent in six of his eight wins, and he is 3-1 over his last 4 bouts. Galloway is only 25 years old, much younger than you would expect of a fighter with 17 fights already during his career.
Galloway is a beast with no inhibitions – his first pro bout was at Bellator 60. These fighters are evenly matched, a win would put either fighter on the radar for advancement to the next level. The fighters both have proficient ground games, though Osbourne is considered the better striker. Osbourne has never been finished, whilst Galloway’s last loss was to a 12-2 Enrique Vazquez via 2nd round KO at XFO 57. If Osbourne can catch Galloway he could get a quick finish, however, if this bout goes to decision, Galloway’s experience could win the day.
