The Bout Card:
Arjan Bhullar (4-0) is a beast. He has won all his bouts including 1 as an amateur, with 2 of his 3 pro wins ending by KO. Chris Catala (2-2) is replacing Marcelo Golm, for which he is coming all the way from Brazil. Chris fights for the Gold Team. His last loss came in 2014 and since then he has been training and winning. Does Catala look scared to you? He towers over Bhullar. This should be interesting.
The card features:
Alexi “Sexy” Argyriou is a 3-0 professional mixed martial artist, a six foot lightweight who has finished all of his opponents. Argyriou also won all 4 of his amateur matches, finishing all but one. He will face his toughest opponent yet in Nate “Get Money” Oses, a 2-1 professional fighter with just as many fights in amateur and pro cages. Oses has only been defeated twice; once in a split decision loss as an amateur and another decision loss in 2012 in his pro debut. Oses has been “sharpening his tools” at Tristar in Montreal since his last fight and is ready to take on Hard Knocks’ hardest.
“I know he doesn’t have the talent to beat me,” Argyriou says of Oses, “I will defeat Nate by KO or TKO inside of one round.
Oses started Muay Thai and quickly advanced through his academy’s Muay Thai rankings to become an instructor. His sensei then placed him in Jiu Jitsu. He wanted to move on the MMA and after some bad experiences he found Tristar. Nate had to raise his own funds to be accepted into Tristar. He left his home in Somerville, Massachusetts, USA, to move to Montreal into the gym’s dorms, where he immediately became part of the family. Tristar has been a temporary home to numerous professional mixed martial artists, including successful fighters like Georges St. Pierre, Rory MacDonald, Miguel Angel Torres, and Kenny Florian. Its family atmosphere and team attitude give the fighters motivation and help to become successful.
Nate’s retort to Argyriou’s call that he will knock Nate out in the 1st round ,”Let the best man win, style win, and we’ll see April 22nd.”
This has fight of the night all over it.

MMAMania.com Call Sam Franchi v Sambath Khun, Bantamweight Title at Hard Knock 49 One of Top 5 Fights to Watch this Weekend – Catch it Live on GFL.tv
Folks, Sam Franchi is here and he’s ready for a fight! WATCH THIS BOUT LIVE – CLICK HERE
This Canadian native looks to keep his streak alive as he heads into Hard Knocks 49 undefeated but he’ll face a real test in Sambath Khun this weekend. This fight should be rather interesting given the fact that Khun only has one loss on his record, and he’s proven to be a tough out.
Franchi has gone long into bouts and been victorious. He finished Binderpaul Nanara, who was undefeated at the time by KO in the 5th round. He went the distance against an undefeated Nic Dupasquier, in a 3 round, winning by unanimous decision. In his first bout he finished Ian Abbott late in the 2nd round of a 2 round bout by Armlock, both he and his opponent were making their debuts.
Kuhn is also a very tough out. His only loss came last July in day 3 of the IMMAF 2015 World Championships, having won in rounds 1 and 2. Like Franchi Kuhn has gone late into bouts and come out victorious.
Both of these fighters have fought tough opponents and by all rights are potential pro prospects. They are set to face off for the Bantamweight title this weekend, expect these two Canadian natives to put on quite the show.
Other fights on the Card:
They say a picture can say a thousand words – this picture says it all – Ali and Quinn do not like each other and they are not scared to face off this evening. Last night the weigh in was entertaining, but not more entertaining then the fight will be – DON’T MISS IT!!
Noah “The Chosen Defender” Ali is a 6-3-0 professional mixed martial artist out of Calgary, Alberta. Ali has won five of his six victories in the first round, with four of them being submission chokes and one knockout head kick. Ali is dangerous both on his feet and on the ground.
His opponent, Sean Quinn, is a 8-6-0 pro MMA fighter out of Regina, Saskatchewan is coming off a 1st round submission by choke over Chris Day just 5 weeks ago. He has four more bouts on his professional record than Ali, just as many submission choke wins, and just as many first round victories. Quinn has more experience in the cage than Ali.
Quinn has a long carreer, his first bout in 2006, however, after a series of losses he seems to be more focused and ready to make a last ditch effort to gain MMA glory. Ali decision loss seemed to take him by surprise as he was building momentum going into 2016.
Both fighters need this win badly.
